Innovative wound care device, Accel-Heal, launched in France.

We are delighted to announce the launch of Accel-Heal in France. Patients in France suffering from painful and hard-to-heal wounds can now benefit from Accel-Heal’s unique 12-day electrical stimulation therapy.

Accel-Heal is a simple to use, single use, wearable electrical stimulation device, which reduces pain and accelerates the healing of chronic wounds.

Clinicians in France successfully manage chronic wounds with electrical stimulation therapy – typically with static devices. Currently, the application of this therapy requires twice daily patient visits by skilled practitioners which limits its use. The therapy can also be difficult to apply to certain wound locations and cannot be used with some dressing regimes.

Accel-Heal facilitates wider adoption of electrical stimulation wound therapy. The 12-day therapy is designed to be used by patients in the comfort and convenience of their own home. Accel-Heal is suitable for use with existing dressing regimes and can be applied to all types of chronic wounds including difficult to dress wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers. This innovation allows more patients to benefit from the therapy with greater personal freedom. Accel-Heal also allows practitioners to use the therapy with their preferred dressing regimes and significantly reduces the number of nursing visits required per patient.

Dr Jean-Paul Lembelembe, a French geriatric and wound specialist in Malestroit and an experienced user of electrical stimulation, recently evaluated Accel-Heal and commented: “Due to the treatment being delivered continuously over the 12-day period, it works quickly to stimulate the healing process and reduce pain, even in very complex wounds such as diabetic and neuropathic ulcers. Accel Heal enables the clinician and patient to use their dressing of choice alongside electrical stimulation therapy, which differs from previous devices.”

Andy Boyes, CEO of Accel-Heal Technologies Limited, said: “We are delighted to be launching Accel-Heal in France in a format that makes front line clinical adoption of electrical stimulation possible, allowing more patients with painful and hard-to-heal wounds to benefit from this evidence based therapy”
